Elderly man in critical condition after attack

A man in his sixties is in a critical condition in hospital after being assaulted in Co. Meath last night.

The incident happened just after midnight on Academy Street in Navan.

He is being treated at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda and Gardaí in Navan are appealing for witnesses to the attack to come foward.
