Callely probe committee to meet later
The committee investigating expenses claims by Senator Ivor Callely will meet later.
The Fianna Fáil senator stood down from the parliamentary party earlier this month, amid controversy about his mileage claims after, it emerged he claimed over €80,000 in expenses over a two-year period.
The Dublin-based Senator said the money was clocked up because he was living in his west Cork holiday home when appointed to the Seanad.
The Senator apologised for the controversy and said he understood the public's anger over the situation.
A second Fianna Fáil Senator - Larry Butler - is also under the spotlight.
He claimed expenses from Graiguenamanagh, Co Kilkenny, but was resident in Foxrock in south Dublin.
The Oireachtas Committee investigating the claims will meet today.
