Probes into Laois farm death

The Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating the death of a man in a farming accident in Co. Laois.

Kevin Molloy, 21, who was living in Kilminchy in Portlaoise, was struck by a tractor shortly before 5pm yesterday evening at Cremorgan in Timahoe.

He was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise were he was pronounced dead.

Mr Molloy was a popular local sporting star who played soccer for Stradbally Town and football for Stradbally GAA.

His funeral will take place on Friday in Stradbally.
