A man and a woman being questioned in Limerick as part of the investigation into the murder of Lee Slattery have been released without charge.

A man and a woman being questioned in Limerick as part of the investigation into the murder of Lee Slattery have been released without charge.

They were arrested yesterday on suspicion of withholding information from Gardaí.

Three others - two men and a woman aged between 19 and 27 were also arrested yesterday - they are still in custody.

They can be held for a further 48 hours before being charged or released.

Twenty-four-year-old Lee Slattery, from Ballynanty, was found buried in a shallow grave outside the city on May 31.

He had been shot in the head and body.
