British government dismisses media speculation on Bloody Sunday report

The British government has said that a newspaper report claiming the Saville Inquiry into the Bloody Sunday killings will find that a number of the fatal shootings of civilians by British soldiers were unlawful is pure "speculation".

The Guardian newspaper claimed that the long-awaited report will put severe pressure on the Public Prosecution Service in the North to prosecute soldiers.

The victims' families say they are annoyed by the apparent leak of information.
