The chairman of the Dáil Public Accounts Committee Bernard Allen has called for the PAC to be given more powers to enable it deal with investigations into the banking crisis and the Dublin Docklands Development Authority.

The chairman of the Dáil Public Accounts Committee Bernard Allen has called for the PAC to be given more powers to enable it deal with investigations into the banking crisis and the Dublin Docklands Development Authority.

Deputy Allen also said the committee needs to be exempted from being gagged by the Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation.
