Man suffers head injuries in Armagh assault

A man suffered serious head injuries after he was assaulted near a river in Armagh.

The victim, aged 20, was reported to police shortly after 6am today and was discovered at Ballinahone Avenue.

He was taken to hospital.

Detectives are still trying to establish the circumstances and appealed for anybody with information to contact them.
