Man for court in connection with Cork shooting

A man is due before Cork District Court shortly charged in connection with an incident in which a shotgun was brandished in a crowded pub.

The 29-year-old had been questioned over the alleged unlawful possession of a firearm at Mo Chuisle Bar in Blarney Street on May 21.

During the incident armed Gardai shot and injured the man holding the weapon after he refused to drop it when challenged.
