Demand for domestic violence support services has increased by 42% over the past two years.

A new survey from the group, Safe Ireland, also reveals that on one day last year 368 women and 291 children received support from a domestic violence service.

The 'In Just One Day' study was taken on November 4.

Safe Ireland's Sharon O'Halloran has said these figures also reflect a major increase in the numbers of people seeking help since 2007.
