Former eircom CEO to take over from Drumm at HSE helm

Cathal Magee is to be announced as the new chief executive of the Health Service Executive.

The former acting group CEO of eircom will succeed Professor Brendan Drumm, who has held the post for the last five years.

Minister for Health and Children Mary Harney said: "Mr Magee brings a track record of top-class management and organisational leadership to our health services.

"I look forward to working with him in continuing to deliver better services for patients at all levels of our health system."
