Number of cases of prostate cancer doubles

The number of cases of prostate cancer in Ireland in men over the age of 55 has doubled over the past 10 years, it has been revealed.

But the number of deaths from the disease only rose very slightly between 1996 and 2006, according to new figures from the National Cancer Registry.
