More than 500 people are expected to protest at a Fianna Fáil conference in Co Tipperary later.

More than 500 people are expected to protest at a Fianna Fáil conference in Co Tipperary later.

Members of RISE - Rural Ireland Says Enough - are using the opportunity to voice their opposition to plans for a ban on hunting.

They are calling on the Environment Minister John Gormley to enter into talks with them, and they say Fianna Fáil "needs to wake up to what's going on in their own Government".

Spokesperson Liam Cahill said: "We're asking John Gormley to step back from his plans (and talk to us)."
