Woman jailed for four years for child cruelty

A 34-year-old woman who savagely beat her young daughter who later died from brain injuries, has been jailed for four years for child cruelty.

Monica Pazkowsha from Fountain Court in Tralee flipped when three-and-a half-year-old Sefora Kycwak soiled herself in bed in August 2005.

Tralee Circuit Crminal Court heard the child had 70 seperate areas of bruising on her body, 31 of them on her head and neck.

Judge Carol Moran said the severity of the attack cannot be underestimated and resulted in a completely unnecessary loss of life.
