Navy divers join search for missing fisherman

Navy divers are to join the search for a man who was swept out to sea while fishing in Co Clare yesterday.

Up to 30 coastguard personnel are involved in the search after the man - a foreign national - disappeared at an area called the Bridges of Ross near Kilkee.

Coastguard units have been combing the water since first light this morning.

They are assisted by the Shannon Rescue helicopter and the Doolin coastguard is to begin a low water seach this afternoon.
