EU will not interfere with corporation tax rate, says Government

The Government is rejecting suggestions that Ireland's low corporation tax rate will come under threat because of closer EU scrutiny of Ireland's Budget.

Brussels yesterday announced proposals to increase scrutiny of the budgets of all member states before they are formally ratified by national parliaments.
