Ireland tipped as top travel destination

The Lonely Planet says Ireland is still one of the world's top holiday destinations.

The travel guide is publishing its Discover Ireland booklet today, and makes no mention of the Blarney Stone, leprechauns or Temple Bar.

Instead, surfing and touring unlikely sites like Belfast estates get recommendations.

Some things haven't changed though - pub culture is still unmissable for those looking for the real Irish experience.
