Gardaí arrest man after serious assault in Limerick pub

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being assaulted in a pub in Limerick city overnight.

The man in his 30s, was beaten about the upper body after a row started inside the pub at around 11pm on Mungret Street in the city centre.

Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with the incident.

He is also believed to be aged in his 30s, and is being held under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act.
