Five people have been arrested in a joint Garda / PSNI operation against dissident republicans.

Five people have been arrested in a joint Garda / PSNI operation against dissident republicans.

Gardaí arrested two men - aged 38 and 30 - in Drogheda, Co Louth.

They are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

The PSNI detained three men in the operation. They are being questioned at Newry police station.
