Tullamore court: Man changed with reckless discharge of firearm

A man has appeared before a special sitting of Tullamore District Court, charged in connection with a shooting incident in the town last week.

Twenty-six-year-old Stephen Murphy with an address at 160, Arden View Tullamore, Co Offaly, was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm under suspicious circumstances in the early hours of Monday last.

Judge John Neilan refused his application for bail.

Mr Murphy was remanded in custody at Cloverhill Prison to appear before Tullamore District Court again on Wednesday, May 5.
