Opposition hits out at Government standards of child protection

Opposition TDs have today severely criticised Government measures on child protection.

It follows a suppressed HSE report from October 2009 - that has been leaked to Fine Gael - into the deaths of teenagers Tracey Fay and David Foley.

The two died while in State care.

The party says the report shows a chronic and systemic failure in the management and delivery of child protection services.
