Pub forced to stop 'Stock Exchange' nights

A Co Waterford pub has been found to be in direct breach of the Code of Practice on the Naming, Packaging and Promotion of Alcohol.

Mason's Sports Bar was found to be encouraging irresponsible drinking with its 'Stock Exchange' nights - during which the price of drinks increased or dropped depending on demand.

The group responsible for promoting responsible alcohol consumption, MEAS, ruled that the breach was in breach of its code of conduct.

The 'Stock Exchange' nights have been stopped as a result.
