Report: Ahern lobbied Cabinet to support friend's development

The Minister for Justice Dermot Ahern has been criticised after reports suggested he lobbied Cabinet members to support a proposal for a development submitted by a close political ally.

Newspaper reports claim Mr Ahern used Department of Justice notepaper to write to the then Ministers for Enterprise and Tourism asking them to back a Co Louth development - which included a casino - pending planning approval.
