Government TD calls for Anglo to be wound down
A Fianna Fáil TD says Anglo Irish Bank is a "Dead Duck", is no longer of systemic importance and there is a case for an orderly wind-down of the institution.
Seán Fleming - who's a constituency colleague of the Taoiseach - made the remarks during a Dáil debate on the Central Bank Reform Bill.
He says it is clear that the picture will keep getting worse at Anglo and that the costs of keeping it open are fast approaching the same figure to close it down.
The Laois-Offaly TD is now in direct conflict with the Cabinet, which has insisted that the bank must be kept open as its vital to the Irish economy.
