Gormley denies protecting Cabinet in banking inquiry
The Environment Minister John Gormley has denied that he has protected his Cabinet colleagues and the Taoiseach Brian Cowen over the format of the banking inquiry.
Mr Gormley said Mr Cowen and other current and previous members of Government will be called before the commission of inquiry.
He also insisted that the format of the investigation - which will be held in private - is the best way to go about getting to the bottom of the crisis.
