More than 800 Irish passengers stranded abroad because of the no-fly zone over northern Europe have sought help from a consular crisis service, it was revealed today.

More than 800 Irish passengers stranded abroad because of the no-fly zone over northern Europe have sought help from a consular crisis service, it was revealed today.

The Government’s emergency taskforce said 500 people had contacted an emergency hotline this morning alone and many more calls were expected in the coming days.
