Gardaí and PSNI to forge closer links

The PSNI and Gardaí are to forge closer links to combat the threat from dissident republicans.

That is the main message after a meeting between the North's new Justice Minister, David Ford and the Minister for Justice Dermot Ahern.

The pair met with the Chief Constable of the PSNI and the Garda Commissioner at Stormont earlier.

Speaking afterwards, Mr Ford described Monday's bomb attack on Palace Barracks as "a stunt".
