Tanáiste concerned for Quinn Insurance jobs
Tanáiste Mary Coughlan says she is concerned for the jobs at Quinn Insurance.
The Quinn Group yesterday accepted the full administration of its insurance business for the interests of the company, the employees and policy holders.
Staff at Quinn Insurance say they have been told by the Financial Regulator that parts of the UK and Northern Ireland divisions of the company will re-open for business within days, however.
Employees handed in a petition to Mathew Elderfield in Dublin this morning which contained more than a thousand signatures from staff concerned about their jobs.
Almost 5,000 people are employed by the Quinn Group across counties Cavan, Fermanagh, Dublin and Meath, almost three thousand of those are in the insurance sector of the business.
