Gilmore: ESRI report contradicts Government view of Anglo bailout

The Labour leader Eamon Gilmore says today's ESRI report flatly contradicts the Government's claim that the Irish taxpayer will get a return for the billions of euro being injected into Anglo Irish Bank.

The report by the Economic and Social Research Institute says that while the recapitalisation of Bank of Ireland and AIB can be considered an investment, the same cannot be said for the estimated €25bn being injected into Anglo Irish Bank.
