The General Secretary of the CPSU Blair Horan, which represents lower paid civil servants, has said his union is going to recommend the rejection of the deal to reform the public sector.

That is despite the fact that it was hammered out by unions in talks with the Government.

IMPACT, Unite and the two teachers unions the ASTI and the TUI have already decided to recommend a no vote to their members and a ballot of Unite members gets underway today.

Mr Horan said the deal "doesn't go far enough when it comes to pay".
