Statement on conjoined twins expected this morning
An operation in London to separate conjoined twins from Cork is due to be completed today.
A statement from Great Ormond Street Hospital, in central London is expected some time after 9am this morning.
About 20 staff have been working in shifts during the complex procedure.
It began at yesterday, and the family were warned it could take 20 hours to complete.
It was led by Cork born surgeon Dr Edward Kiely who has 30 years experience in the separation of conjoined twins.
Hassan and Hussein Benhaffaf were born in December at University College London Hospital.
