Waterford medical centre to cease radiotherapy

The Whitfield Cancer Centre in Waterford is to cease offering radiotherapy to new public patients from next month.

The centre, which treats around 600 patients a year, says the decision was taken after 15 months of negotiations with the HSE failed to secure a new contract.
