Quinn workers to hold rally at regulator's office on Friday

The employees of Quinn Insurance have organised a "mass congregation" at the office of the Financial Regulator on Friday.

The workers are awaiting news on whether a ban in accepting UK business will be lifted.

"Should the regulator act with the same urgency that he did last Tuesday on receipt and examination of the information, Quinn Insurance should be open for trading in the NI/UK by Friday morning," the workers said in a statement.

"We are inviting all employees to join us in this meeting and in particular the 1,500 employees in all Quinn Insurance offices who are directly impacted by the decision on NI/UK business."

Another rally is planned for Cavan town this evening at 5.30pm.
