'Little fighters' set for separation surgery

A set of conjoined twins - dubbed the "Little fighters" - will undergo surgery in London later.

Four-month-old Hassan and Hussein Benhaffaf from Cork are joined at the chest but do not share any vital organs.

The procedure, which is taking place at Great Ormond Street Hospital, is likely to take around 20 hours.

Consultant obstetrician Professor Elis Down says the surgery will be carefully monitored and would not have been suggested if there were not "a reasonable chance of success".
