Bruton warns of further Exchequer shortfalls

Fine Gael finance spokesman Richard Bruton warned that the country was on course for a tax shortfall of €1bn by the end of the year, if today's trend in falling tax receipts continued.

Figures published today showed tax revenue is down 15% on this time last year and is behind what the Minister expected on Budget day by 3.5%.
