Overtime ban lifted at passport offices

The overtime ban at the passport office has been lifted following a meeting of the Civil Public and Services Union (CPSU) Executive.

The overtime ban at the passport office has been lifted following a meeting of the Civil Public and Services Union (CPSU) Executive.

However, executive members launched a stinging attack on the partnership deal reached with the Government yesterday.

Following a heated meeting that last all afternoon, the Executive of the CPSU did agree to lift the overtime ban at the passport office - but other aspects of the work-to-rule remain in place.

Speaking after the meeting, CPSU General Secretary Blair Horan said he was not confident of agreement in the Government-brokered deal reached yesterday.

The Executive is due to meet again on Monday April 12 in order to consult with their members and give them more time to consider the government deal.
