Gardaí arrest man after botched robbery

A man in his thirties has been arrested following a botched robbery in Cork city.

Gardaí arrested the man after he entered a shop on Kilmoney Road in Carrigaline at lunchtime.

He threatened staff with an imitiation firearm before leaving the store empty handed.

He is being questioned at Togher garda station in Cork city.
