Four arrested in connection with Waterford gang assault

Four people have been arrested by gardaí investigating a vicious attack in Waterford at the weekend.

Two men in their 20s were set upon by a group of men in the People's Park at around midnight on Sunday.

It's thought the gang was armed with hurleys, and the attack left one of the victims critically injured.

Gardaí last night detained four people in connection with the incident. Two men are being questioned in Waterford Garda station, while a man and a woman were taken to Tramore station.
