Tyrone man charged at Special Criminal Court
A Co Tyrone man has appeared before the Special Criminal Court tonight charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Martin Kelly (aged 35) with an address at Barrack Street, Strabane appeared before a special sitting of the three judge, non jury court charged with the offence at Doneyloop, Castlefin in Co Donegal on February 12, 2008.
Detective Sergeant Michael Donohue, Letterkenny Garda Station, told the court he arrested Mr Kelly earlier today at Amien Street in Dublin for the purposes of charging him with the offence in question.
Mr Kelly spoke only to confirm his name to the court.
A solicitor representing him said there was no application for bail at present.
The Special Criminal Court, with Mr Justice Paul Butler presiding, remanded the man in custody to appear before the court again on Tuesday next.
