Mountjoy Prison stabbing trial adjourned as accused falls ill

The trial of a 29-year-old Dublin man accused of murdering another man in Mountjoy Prison has been adjourned until Monday because the accused is unwell.

Declan O’Reilly of Parnell Road, Crumlin in Dublin has pleaded not guilty to the murder of 24-year-old Derek Glennon on June 25, 2007.

A jury of five women and seven men was sworn in on Monday and the trial was due to begin today. However Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy sent the jurors away for the weekend after telling them that the defendant was indisposed.

The trial at the Central Criminal Court is expected to last a week.
