CPSU to escalate strike action
An escalation of industrial action affecting Government services is expected in the coming weeks.
Last night the Civil and Public Service Union (CPSU), which represents around 13,000 lower-paid civil servants, served formal strike notice on the Government.
Its members are preparing for 'selective strikes' of 'indefinite duration' from Monday week in their battle over public service pay cuts.
The escalation could particularly hit services provided by the Revenue Commissioners, the Department of Social and Family Affairs and the Passport Office.
