No verdict yet in €6.4m heroin court case

The jury in the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court trial of a man accused of transporting €6.4m worth of heroin has been sent home for the weekend after failing to reach a verdict.

Michael Byrne (aged 36), of Old Tower, Clondalkin, has pleaded not guilty to possession of 32 kilogrammes of heroin for sale or supply in the Culmore Road area of Palmerstown on January 15, 2008.

Judge Frank O’Donnell asked the jury of seven men and five women to return on Monday to resume their deliberations.
