IMPACT: Health workers to escalate strike action

The IMPACT trade union, which represents health workers, says it will escalate its industrial action and begin a series of rolling work stoppages in the row with the Government over cuts to pay .

The union which represents nearly 30,000 administrative staff is already enegaged in a work-to-rule.

The HSE has this week written to them asking them to resume normal duties, warning that they face disciplinary action if they refuse.

Kevin Callinan of IMPACT has said they will not be deterred from their campaign of opposition to Government pay cuts.
