HSE investigating Roscommon hospital death

The Health Service Executive has confirmed it is investigating the death of a woman at Roscommon County Hospital.

It is understood the woman, who was disabled and aged in her 50s, died a number of days after an accident in which she fell from her wheelchair and down a flight of stairs at the hospital.

Gardai were made aware of her death and a post mortem examination has been carried out.

In a statement the HSE said it is awaiting certain medical reports, and won't comment further until an initial examination is completed.
