Man dies in Roscommon car crash

A man has been killed in a road crash in Co. Roscommon.

The 34-year-old died when the car he was driving crashed at Tarmonbarry on the N5 Longford to Strokestown Road in the early hours of this morning.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Roscommon General Hospital.

The road is closed pending a forensic examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí in Boyle are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
