Irish team sets out for gruelling North Pole expedition
An Irish adventure team is hoping to set off today on a gruelling expedition to the North Pole.
Over the next 60 days, Pat Falvey, Doctor Clare O'Leary and John Dowd will walk, ski and swim their way along a 748 kilometre trek, in temperatures reaching as low as minus 60 degrees.
The aim is to become the first Irish team to reach North Pole without using dogs or any mechanical means.
