Race fixtures at Clonmel and Leopardstown will go ahead today after a planned strike by officials at the Turf Club was called off.

Horse-racing officials represented by the trade union Mandate had threatened to strike over a dispute about planned pay cuts by the Turf Club.

However, both sides have agreed to resume talks at the Labour Relations Commission next Tuesday.

Mandate spokeswoman Mandy Kane has said the matter could still end up in the Labour Court.
