Gardaí investigating the murder of Daniel Treacy have been granted more time to question two men in relation to his killing.

Gardaí investigating the murder of Daniel Treacy have been granted more time to question two men in relation to his killing.

The 35-year-old father of two was shot dead at a petrol station on the outskirts of Limerick last Monday morning.

This evening Limerick District Court granted applications to extend the periods of detention of two men who are being questioned by gardaí.

The men, who are aged 29 and 51, are being questioned under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
