Oireachtas Transport Committee to hear proposals for Hangar 6

All sides in the row over Hanger 6 at Dublin airport will make presentations to the Oireachtas Transport Committee later today.

The Chief Executives of Ryanair and Aer Lingus, as well as the heads of the Dublin Airport Authority and the IDA will make their submissions separately.

Ryanair has pledged hundreds of aircraft maintenance jobs - if it is given the use of Hanger 6, however the DAA has contracted the premises out to Aer Lingus.

A protest march will take place in Dublin today to urge the parties involved in the dispute to reach a settlement.

The rally which begins at the Garden of Remembrance is being organised by aircraft maintenance technicians laid off by SR Technics last year.

They want the Government, the Dublin Airport Authority, Aer Lingus and Ryanair to settle the row over the hangar.

Former SRT worker John Devane is urging union members, the unemployed and exorcised members of the public to show their support.
