Irish Red Cross raises €2m for Haiti
The Irish Red Cross has raised over €2m for the relief effort in Haiti.
The charity launched an appeal in January in the wake of a devastating earthquake, which killed over 200,000 people and left thousands more homeless.
The organisation is thanking Irish people for their kindness and said it has been able to step up relief distributions and is now reaching 2,500 people every day.
“I would like to sincerely thank all of those who have so generously given to our Haiti Appeal," said Declan O’Sullivan, Acting Secretary General of the Irish Red Cross.
"Thanks to your kindness, the Irish Red Cross can continue to provide victims of the earthquake with much needed medical care, shelter, food, water and sanitation”
