Man arrested in connection with gangland shooting

A man in his late 20s has been arrested in connection with the latest shooting in Dublin.

Aidan Byrne, 32, from East Wall was gunned down as he sat in the passenger seat of a car on Drumalee Avenue off the North Circular Road just after half past eight last night.

Gardaí arrested the man this afternoon. He is being held at the Bridewell garda station in Dublin under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
